In addition to the project for persons who recovered from acute coronary syndromes, we also implement the Regional Health Program in the field of prevention and early detection of type 2 diabetes through two projects:

  1. The Regional Health Program in the field of prevention and early detection of type 2 diabetes” (throughout the Swietokrzyskie Voivodship, excluding the Kielce functional area).
  2. The Regional Health Program in the field of prevention and early detection of type 2 diabetes” – ZIT (in the Kielce functional area).

Diabetes and heart diseases

One of the most serious complications of diabetes are cardiovascular diseases. The report of the Institute for Health Protection in Poland shows that the coexistence of diabetes and coronary disease increases the risk of mortality in men by 2-3 times, and in women by as much as 3-5 times.

Diabetes and heart diseases
Type 2 diabetes is a disease that is caused by insulin secretion disorders associated with tissue insulin resistance. Adults are most at risk, in particular in the elderly, but it is increasingly common for younger people.

The most common causes of diabetes are:
overweight and obesity
sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise
incorrect diet
hypertension
high cholesterol levels

How to prevent diabetes and support treatment?
